Poker.com Rating

Fish Rating

Being one of the newest and fastest growing online poker rooms, Poker.com has an abundance of easy players. A very significant portion of their players simply comes from people typing in the first thing that comes to mind: Poker.com. In addition, their whole marketing campaign and design targets newer players. Since it's still relatively new and unknown, only a few of the more experienced players have found their way there. I highly recommend this site simply because you won't find easier competition.

Game Selection

This is where Poker.com starts to fall behind. They offer Texas Hold'em and Omaha, but that's it. No 7 Card Stud. They're in a beta phase for incorporating a blackjack game, though, which is very reminiscent of Party Poker. Also, the Omaha game selection isn't massive. You won't have any trouble finding good Omaha games during the peak hours, but at different times it may be another story. If you're a Texas Hold'em fan, though, you'll find a plentiful supply of games. Not only that, but the games are very loose, with flop percentages averaging between 60-70%. If you're a Texas Hold'em player, this should have the perfect amount of easy players to keep you with plenty of options day and night.

Promotions

Poker.com is a terrific poker room when it comes to promotions. They're of the opinion that a happy player is a valuable player, so they do everything they can to make you happy. For example, they start off by giving you a first-time deposit bonus of 50% up to $200 if you enter the bonus code FIRST50. They also offer frequent redeposit bonuses to entice players to keep depositing - and it works really well, because their bonuses are terrific. In addition to this, they have over $35,000 in freerolls each week. They also have a rewards system called "comp points". You earn these by playing raked hands, and you can exchange them for really neat things, such as a redeposit bonus, tournament entry fee, and more. They also say that they'll have a store up and running soon, so you'll be able to exchange your comp points for Poker.com merchandise.

Software

They have some terrific software. For those who're used to other poker room's software, such as Party Poker or Absolute Poker, it may seem foreign to you because it breaks the mold. Once you get the hang of it, though, it's quite sleek and very user-friendly. They try to make the software flashy and fun as opposed to sleek and professional. While it's not a problem at first, it can become a bit annoying later on. Despite all that, it's very solid software and is an easy thing to use and get used to. One more neat feature is that you can use little symbols to mark other players as things such as "shark" or "fish". While not particularly amazing, it's alot easier to spot than trying to read or write notes for each player at the table (though they also offer the ability to write notes for specific players). All in all some very good software.

Tournaments

Their tournaments are very nice, and Poker.com puts alot of emphasis on the over $35,000 in freerolls that they run each week. There are several $100 freerolls each day, a $500 first-time depositor freeroll daily, $4000 freerolls on Monday and Wednesday nights, and then a whopping $20,000 freeroll every Sunday. They also have a great offering of traditional buy-in tournaments, including a weekly $10,000 guaranteed and daily guaranteed prize pools ranging between $200 all the way to $3000. They also have satellites for big tournaments such as the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour. For sit-n-go's, they have a great variety, with the buyins ranging from $2 to $500. Poker.com goes the extra mile with their tournaments, and it really shows.

Customer Service

One word: fantastic. Poker.com's customer service is top-notch. They try very hard to establish a personal relationship with their players, so you actually get to know the customer support representative you're speaking with instead of just getting an email response from an anonymous agent. They don't outsource their support, so you get someone who's extremely knowledgeable about Poker.com's software, promotions and just about everything else. Their deposits are very easy, and they have something that's truly unique: instant withdrawals. That's right; you put in a request for a withdrawal, and it's done. You don't have to wait several days/weeks for it to be processed and confirmed, it just happens. While this may not seem too extra-special, it's actually a great bonus they offer when compared to other rooms. All in all, extremely good customer support.
