Party Poker RatingFish RatingBeing one of the largest online poker rooms, Party Poker sports some delicious fish for experienced poker players to rob of their money. The key to Party Poker is its huge volume of players. They’re promoted extremely well and this means that they get all kinds of players, good and bad. So while there are some bad players, there are also some extremely good players. Not a bad place to make money, but keep your eye out for sharks. Game Selection If you like a good variety of games that always have people playing, Party Poker is tough to beat. They offer Texas Holdem, as well as Omaha and 7 Card Stud. For the latter two games, they also offer Hi/Lo versions. In addition to this, Party Poker offers interesting side bets to take while you play poker, as well as a well done blackjack game that can be surprisingly addictive. Because of their traffic, all of the poker games and most every limit will always have an abundance of players. So if you’re looking for a $5/$10 game of Omaha Hi/Lo at 4:30am, Party Poker is the place to check. Promotions For first-time deposit bonuses, Party Poker sets the standard. They offer what has become the industry standard: a 20% bonus up to $100. This isn’t anything overly special, as most poker rooms offer this bonus, but it’s given out at a fair rate. They also offer a flat $25 bonus for people with smaller bankrolls. For players who first signup, you also get some good bonuses, including freerolls up to $5000 as well as playing in special tables where only players who joined in the last 30 days can play. They also offer 20% re-deposit bonuses every few months. Software Party Poker’s software, while reliable and sleek, is pretty simplistic. Unlike most other poker rooms, Party Poker doesn’t show detailed stats of the tables. With the other major rooms, you can see things such as flop percentage and how many hands are played per hour. With Party Poker, you only get to see the average pot size of the table, which is also a standard offered by most other poker rooms. To make up for it, they also offer the previously mentioned sidebetting and blackjack that most other rooms don’t. However, you’ll have a harder time finding the loose tables with Party Poker’s software than with most other poker software. Tournaments Since Party Poker is so huge, they’re able to offer some pretty big tournaments. For example, they have a weekly guaranteed tournament for $200,000. Omaha and 7 Card Stud players will appreciate them because they actually run several tournaments for those games – and what’s more, they have a good amount of traffic. Another benefit to Party Poker’s traffic is that they can offer Sit ‘n Go multi-table tournaments. The competition can be pretty hard, though, as most of the softer players stick to ring games. Customer Service Party Poker’s response time is top of the line. If you email them, you usually get a reply within half an hour. They also have started offering phone support once again. The downside is that their support staff isn’t as knowledgeable as one would like. The responses are usually short and uninformative, and since Party Poker gets their support by outsourcing to India there can be a language barrier. Other than that, their deposits and cashouts work quickly and without any hassles. |
